QR Code Guide

How to use a menu with QR Code on tables, counters and printed materials

The QR Code works as a shortcut to the digital menu address. The customer points the cell phone camera, taps the warning displayed by the device and opens the menu in the browser. There is no need to install an app or create an account.

Where the QR Code can be placed

The general code leads to the menu without identifying the table. The QR Code per table includes this information upon access, which helps when the establishment uses WhatsApp or a control panel for local consumption.

How to print without compromising reading

Use a light background and dark code, preserve the empty margin around it and avoid placing texts or logos on the QR Code modules. For close-up reading on a table, a code a few inches wide often works better than very small print.

The quality of the material also matters. Strong reflections, bending, dirt, and blurred printing may prevent the camera from recognizing the code. Carry out a test in the actual lighting condition of the establishment.

Test before distributing

  1. Read with at least two cell phones.
  2. Confirm the name and products displayed.
  3. Test using mobile internet, not just local Wi-Fi.
  4. Check that the table QR shows the correct identification.
  5. Check if prices and availability are up to date.

Is it necessary to generate another QR Code when the price changes?

No. The code points to the establishment's public page. Prices, photos and products can be updated on the panel without changing the printed QR Code. A new code is only required if the public address changes.

QR Code does not have to mean online ordering

The establishment can use the code for consultation only. In this mode there is no button to select product or cart. If you wish, you can switch to WhatsApp or order board in the settings without changing the QR Code already distributed.
